Dr Keith Joiner, CSC, Ph.D., MSc, MMgmt, BEng, CPPD, CPEngChief Editor ITEA Journal of Testing
Current Chief Editor ITEA Journal of Testing. Dr Joiner was an Air Force aeronautical engineer, project manager, and teacher for 30 years, culminating in his last four years as Australia’s all-domain Director General of Test and Evaluation. He was awarded a U.S. Meritorious Service Medal, an Australian Conspicuous Service Cross, and was commended twice by Service Chiefs. Since joining the University of New South Wales, his research and teaching have involved efficient test design, governance of capabilities, assurance processes for AI, and cyber-resilient systems.

Dr. Laura Freeman Ph.D.Former Chief Editor
Dr. Freeman is a Research Professor of Statistics and Deputy Director of the Virginia Tech National Security Institute. She also serves as Assistant Dean for Research in the College of Science. She leads research in test and evaluation, AI assurance, and data science to address national security challenges. She previously served as Assistant Director at IDA’s Operational Evaluation Division and as Senior Technical Advisor to DOT&E. From 2020–2024, she was Editor-in-Chief of the ITEA Journal. Dr. Freeman holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Virginia Tech. She is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association.

Greg Magone Ph.D., P.E.Flight Test Engineer, The Boeing Company.
Dr. Magone is a Flight Test Engineer at The Boeing Company, with over 18 years experience. He specializes in Test Instrumentation. He has conducted flight testing of all major models of Boeing airplanes, including the 737, 747, 777, 787, and KC-46A airplane families. Dr. Magone holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He is a life member of both the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics and the International Test and Evaluation Association.

Viruben Watson, CPEng GAICD Assistant Editor, ITEA Journal
Viruben Watson is a Senior Defence Test & Evaluation Engineer with over 20 years of experience and a proven track record for trialing the integration of complex systems. He has proven experience across the Defence sector, holding senior positions within industry as an Engineering Manager and within the Commonwealth as a consultant to Navy. He continues to serve with distinction in the Royal Australian Navy as a Project Engineer. He has a Masters in Systems Engineering from UNSW Canberra, a Masters in Flight Test and Flight Dynamics from Cranfield University, and is also a Graduate of the Empire Test Pilots’ School in Boscombe Down.
