US Navy Missile Tests: Going Portable with Acroamatics
The Acroamatics engineers created a new unit in response to a new requirement that combines both the MD2680AP 32-Channel Analog AGC Recorder and the Dual Stream MD2510AP Telemetry Data Processor product functionality. With this single unit, the customer can perform both receiver AGC data analysis /logger and quick-look telemetry processing on the same platform. The AGC recorder displays and logs up to 32 analog AGC receiver performance channels, and at the same time outputs a serial PCM stream of that data for recording on their Wideband Chpt 10 PCM recorders. The unit’s dual stream Telemetry Processing feature performs pre-mission test article data validation, supports real-time mission telemetry processing/data/storage, and immediate quick-look field analysis during the live-fire phase of the test.
Acroamatics has shipped the first unit to the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Corona, CA. There, they will use these systems in portable telemetry shipboard missile test systems for US Navy and foreign military customers during their missile tests and evaluations. These tests include support for fleet training exercises, extended test range telemetry acquisition for Trident FBM and SM 2/3 (Aegis) ballistic missile defense systems, and other fleet missile systems such as Harpoon, SLAM-ER, and Tomahawk.
