THEME: Evolution of Next Generation T&E Capabilities
Reimagining T&E for a Faster, Smarter World
Test & Evaluation is at a turning point.
Once driven by major defence and technology programmes, T&E is now being reshaped by urgent societal needs, rapid innovation, and the demand for speed at scale.
This shift isn’t incremental—it’s transformational.
The next generation of T&E must be:
- Agile and cross-sector
- Inclusive of SMEs and global markets
- Integrated across the full lifecycle
- Powered by collaboration across industry, government, and academia
But transformation doesn’t happen alone.
👉 It requires new thinking, new partnerships, and a workforce ready to adapt and lead.
🚀 Join the Leaders Driving This Change
This summit brings together the minds shaping the future of T&E to explore:
- The forces redefining T&E today
- Breakthrough opportunities for innovation
- The evolving demands of modern programmes and society
- Practical ways to turn ambition into capability

PANEL DISCUSSIONS
T&E’s value in supporting SME Innovation in Defence
Join us for a compelling conference panel exploring the critical value of Test & Evaluation (T&E) in accelerating Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) innovation within Defence. Chaired by Julie Ashton, QinetiQ’s Lead for the SME Innovation Gateway, this session brings together expert voices from the MOD, innovative SMEs, Defence Primes, and leading Test Facility Providers to share perspectives from across the ecosystem. The panel will examine how effective T&E de-risks innovation, shortens pathways to adoption, and enables SMEs to scale credible, deployable capabilities. Expect practical insights, real-world examples, and an engaging discussion on how collaboration in T&E can unlock faster, smarter Defence innovation.
UK T&E Community of Interest Hackathons 2 and 3
Discover how hackathons can deliver value to the Test & Evaluation (T&E) enterprise in this dynamic conference panel session, focused on turning rapid collaboration into real value. Chaired by Andy Cunningham, QinetiQ Capability Development Lead for T&E, the panel will share insights and tangible outcomes from two recent hackathons that explored the application of Modelling & Simulation and Artificial Intelligence within T&E. Featuring contributors from the MOD and across Industry, the discussion will highlight how hackathons can accelerate problem-solving, break down traditional barriers, and translate innovative ideas into practical T&E advancements. Attendees will gain a clear view of the benefits, lessons learned, and future potential of hackathons as a powerful enabler of modern, agile T&E.
T&E needs in Current and Future Programmes
Join this authoritative conference panel as it examines the Test & Evaluation (T&E) requirements driving some of the UK’s most strategically important defence programmes, including Hypersonics, Global Combat Aircraft, and Future UK Naval Programmes. With panel members drawn directly from these key MOD programme teams, the session will provide a first-hand view of how T&E is being shaped to address unprecedented levels of technical complexity, risk, and pace. The discussion will explore how robust, forward-looking T&E underpins successful delivery, informs critical programme decisions, and ensures emerging capabilities are credible, assured, and operationally relevant in an increasingly contested environment.
TUTORIAL BEING OFFERED – Monday, June 8 [10:00AM – 5:00PM]
Course Title: CTEP Body of Knowledge 2026
A course focused on the Certified Test & Evaluation Professional (CTEP) Body of Knowledge (BOK) to include the 4 CTEP domains. Goal of the course is to prepare for the ITEA CTEP exam.
- You are welcome to take this class without attending the UK T&E Summit.
- The cost is $400 US Dollars. If you are interested in just attending this course, please contact Jenna@itea.org
Abstract
In this high-level one-day course we will review the fundamentals of T&E which are covered in the CTEP Associates exam. The course includes an introduction with a short history of T&E. The class then focuses on the CTEP BOK including the four subject domains plus some specialized types of testing.
- Test and Evaluation Planning: Requirements Analysis, T&E strategy, the TEMP, Evaluation approach, Test Planning, T&E Cost Management, Contracting for T&E, Organizational planning, Risk identification and management
- Test and Evaluation Design: Test Adequacy and Scientific Test and Analysis Techniques (STAT).
- Test and Evaluation Execution: Test Control Management, Data Management, and Test Safety/Certification.
- Test Data Analysis, Evaluation and Reporting: Data Verification and Validation, Validation of Test Results, Evaluation, Reporting, Cyber Resilience / Cybersecurity Analysis, Model Validation, and Data Analytics.
- Specialized types of Testing (if there is time): Integrated Test & Evaluation (IT&E), Human Factors Engineering in T&E, Modeling & Simulation (M&S) in T&E, Reliability Growth, Software Development (including Agile) in T&E, Artificial Intelligence in T&E, Cyber Security T&E, Live Fire T&E, and Interoperability T&E.
Who Should Attend
Individuals in the T&E community (government and industry, ITEA members and non-members) who want to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and abilities in T&E and be recognized by the ITEA for their professional growth. Note that the CTEP credential is becoming a “preferred” requirement in many test engineer job postings.
