Professional Development Excellence
The in-person instructor led Design of Experiment (DOE) course provided by ITEA addresses a critical competency requirement for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for T&E practitioners and researchers. This DOE course provides the needed understanding, methods, and tools that are unique to the disciplines of research, test and evaluation. The course is delivered in an engaging and fun way with applicable exercises that supports retention of skills and provides apperception of value-added scientific processes. Wooden catapults used for the test cases and experiments are an excellent way to provide physical examples that work for all knowledge levels. The use to statistical tools and predictive analytics used in the course provided an easy and practical way to plan and analyze test cases, while demonstrating proven techniques that support effective risk management and systems thinking. FAA Students and Managers have all commented on how well the course was delivered and highlighted the values of the takeaway knowledge and skills that can be readily applied to current and future T&E and research projects. The instructor was extremely experienced and qualified with a very enthusiastic approach to the course work and T&E mission. I highly recommend the ITEA DOE course as a staple part of every T&E and research organization workforce development and training program.
