OVERVIEW

The objectives of the LIFT/Naval-IME User Group Forum are to increase LIFT/Naval-IME User understanding of LIFT/Naval-IME current and future capabilities, and to collect Voice of the Customer from LIFT/Naval-IME Stakeholders to improve existing capabilities and enhance LIFT/Naval-IME customer satisfaction.

Pre-Forum Tutorials on Tuesday, August 13

Tutorial I: Leveraging Innovations, Frameworks and Technologies (LIFT) 101, Dennis Reed, LIFT Director.
The LIFT 101 Tutorial will cover LIFT scope, purpose, enclaves and access, software applications, features and functions, data management, costs, and terms and conditions of access and use.

Tutorial II: Integrated Modeling Environment (IME) 101, David Belleavoine, IME Program Manager.
The IME 101 tutorial commences with a review of IME current capabilities, and demonstrates how to navigate through available resources. Participants will follow a walkthrough on installing, configuring, and accessing IME products. Furthermore, an efficient means of communicating requirements, issues, enhancements, and feedback, will be valuable to beginners and experienced users alike.

Tutorial III:  LIFT App Store, Rachael Orzechowski, Director, M&S Management Technologies, SimVentions.
The App Store/Library in the LIFT provides individual users, decision makers, and organizations with the ability to create, share, and discover information. This tutorial will provide an overview of the App Store/Library capability and the business rules that govern the application. Attendees will leave the tutorial with an understanding of the application user roles, search and curation mechanisms, metrics capability, and methods of contributing to the App Store/Library. The feature roadmap for the application and instructions on how to join the App Store/Library Users Group will be provided.

Breakout Session Abstracts on Wednesday/Thursday, August 14-15

Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
A brief history of IME, navigating through the evolution of past services, current offerings, and proceeding into future planned opportunities on the roadmap will start this session. Subsequently, discussion from guest speakers on the Integrated Dictionary, and Mission Engineering Schema activities that are furthering Naval Model Based Systems Engineering efforts will follow. An interactive Q&A and feedback segment will conclude this session.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
In this workshop we delve into the world of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), using Aras Innovator combined with a powerful integration platform, SBE Vision. Our focus will be on harnessing the power of Aras Innovator, a cutting-edge platform that stands at the forefront of digital transformation.

LIFT APP Store
The App Store / Library in the LIFT provides individual users, decision makers, and organizations with the ability to create, share, and discover information. This session will provide an overview of how Organizations begin contributing to the App Store / Library. Session attendees will receive a demonstration of bulk data ingestion and the steps to ensure information is discoverable by future consumers. Attendees will also receive an overview of the curation capabilities of the application and demonstrate how organizations can easily update their holdings. This session will also provide attendees an opportunity to provide feedback and suggest new features for the application.

Development Operations (DevOps) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
(CI/CD)
In this session we’ll delve into the transformative practices shaping modern software development and deployment strategies leveraged at the 15th Space Surveillance Squadron and at the Maui High Performance Computing Center. This session will explore the integration of development, testing, deployment, and operations –highlighting the
principles, tools, and methodologies driving efficiency, agility, and quality in software delivery. Whether you’re a seasoned DevOps practitioner or new to CI/CD pipelines, this session promises to offer valuable insights, practical strategies, and real-world examples to accelerate your journey towards streamlined, automated, and resilient software delivery pipelines within the DoD.

Collaboration Tools/Agile
This session will explore the essential tools and techniques empowering teams to collaborate effectively in Agile environments. From communication platforms to project management tools, this session will delve into the diverse array of technologies designed to enhance teamwork, transparency, and productivity. Whether you’re a seasoned Agile practitioner or new to collaboration tools, this session promises to offer practical insights, best practices, and real-world examples to optimize your team’s collaboration, streamline workflows, and drive successful Agile transformations. Don’t miss this opportunity to unlock the full potential of your team’s collaborative efforts in Agile projects.

High Performance Computing Components
The HPC Components Session will provide Overview of DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) chartered by Congress in 1992 to revolutionize warfighter support through the increased application of high‐end computing (HEC) to critical research, development, test and evaluation (RD&E) initiatives. Attendees will receive high level understanding of HPCMP Ecosystems (DoD Supercomputing Resource Centers (DSRCs); Networking and Security & Software Application).
