Big Thank you to Booze Allen Hamilton
Hampton Roads Chapter successfully hosted the August Cybersecurity 2023 Workshop at the WESTIN VA Beach Town Center. Booz Allen Hamilton served as the technical exchange sponsor and Hampton Roads Chapter President Erwin Sabile, CTEP hosted the 9th Annual Cybersecurity Workshop. This year’s theme is Securing the Future: Navigating the Evolving Threat Landscape.
A live cyber attack against emulated DoD-representative systems were demonstrated to the audience to include senior personnel from the Army’s Program Executive Office Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation; National Cyber Range; DoD Test Resource Management Center; Developmental Test, Evaluation, and Assessments within the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering; Google; and the Threat Systems Management Office.
Booz Allen Norfolk Office Vice President Justine Gayle served as one of the judges in the STEAMhack Chain reaction which also included Chris Collins, Director, Developmental Test, Evaluation, and Assessments within the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. STEAMhack Chain Reaction Challenge is a speed-building event where teams of three to six high school students receive a kit of materials and about three hours to build the most impressive chain reaction-style machine. Over 15 students participated from various local Hampton Roads school where scholarship awards were awarded to the participants.
